How to Set Up a Facebook Business Page

Set Up Your Page for Success Section

Available for Page Owner & Admin Views. Recommend using a computer to complete these items.

  1. Profile Photo: Have your photo ready. Google Facebook Profile Photo specs. The profile photo specs may change over time.

  2. Cover Photo: Have your photo ready. Google for current specs.

  3. Call to Action (CTA): Add an Action Button

About Section (Edit Page Info)

General Tab

  1. Name: Your Page name should accurately reflect what the Page is about.

    1. Facebook Rules: Facebook reviews name changes to protect the identity of the businesses, brands and organizations that Facebook Pages represent.

    2. Your Choice: Have a couple of options available. We have used Namech_k to find available names.

  2. Username: Important for branding purposes. It’s easier for people to find your Page in search when it has a unique username. Pages with usernames can also create custom URLs that let people quickly visit and message them.

  3. Categories: Help people find your Page by choosing categories that represent your Page. Having an accurate category helps Facebook show your business to the right people at the right time so that your business can reach a more engaged audience. Up to three categories are available.

Contact Tab

  1. Phone Number: If you have a dedicated business line, then list it. If not, you may choose to leave this off.

  2. Email Address: Include your business email. If you do not have one, then obtain one.

  3. Website: If you have a website, list it.

Location Tab

  1. Address

    1. Physical Address: If you have a brick and mortar location, great. Enter your street address, city and state.

    2. Virtual Business: Recommend leaving off your personal home address for security reasons.

  2. Service Area: If you travel to provide goods or services to your customers, select up to ten neighborhoods, cities or regions to define your service area.

Hours Tab

  1. Hours

    1. No Hours Available: Visitors won’t see business hours on this page

    2. Always Open: e.g. Parks, beaches, streets

    3. Permanently Closed: This business has permanently closed

    4. Open on Selected Hours: Input your own hours

  2. Temporary Service Changes: Choose an option to indicate how your services have changed due to coronavirus (COVID-19).

    1. Open With Service Changes: This business has new or changed service (e.g. pickup, delivery, online service, etc.) - check appropriate item (Online Services, Delivery, Pickup, Other Changes

    2. Temporarily Closed: This business isn’t currently open but will open again in the future.

    3. Operating as Usual: This business doesn’t have any temporary service changes.

More Tab

  1. Privacy Policy: If you have a Privacy Policy, provide URL.

  2. Impressum: This is an optional field. In certain countries, such as Austria, Germany and Switzerland, businesses may be required by law to include a statement of ownership on their web presence. The limit is 2,000 characters.

  3. Products: This is an optional field. List the products that your business offers here. The limit is 2,000 characters.

  4. Additional Information: Additional information about your Page. Limit is 50,000 characters.

  5. Price Range:

    1. $ (Cheap), $$ (Moderate), $$$ (Expensive), $$$$ (Splurge), Unspecified

    2. If you do not wish to specify a price range

    3. Price range is not applicable

  6. Other Social Accounts: List other social accounts (Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, YouTube, Twitch). Linking is important to optimize your digital footprint.
